REGISTRATION / LOGGING IN

1. Why do I need to register?

One of the reasons is make sure that we have your email address on hand just in case you apply for a job. All job applications are responded to via the email address that you register with.


2. Will you sell my personal information?

Absolutely not. Please read our terms for more information.

3. I am having problems logging in. What Could be the problem?

Your cookies are probably disabled in your browser. Our system needs cookies enabled in order to detect users logged in. This is how you can enable your cookies:

In Internet Explorer:
*Go to Tools on the top tool bar
*Drag down to Internet Options
*Click on the Security Tab
*Click on Custom Level
*Enable Cookies

OR

Recent Version of Internet Explorer

*Go to Tools on the top tool bar
*Drag down to Internet Options
*Click on the Privacy Tab
*Slide Bar down to 'Medium High' or lower

In AOL:
*Go to My AOL
*Click on preferences
*Click on WWW
*Go to Tools on the top tool bar
*Drag down to Internet Options
*Click on the Security Tab
*Click on Custom Level
*Enable Cookies

In Netscape Navigator:

*Go to Edit
*Drag down to preferences
*Click the Advanced category.
*Click one of the radio buttons. Important: In most cases, "Accept all cookies" is the best choice.
*If you want to be notified when Communicator accepts a cookie, check "Warn me before accepting a cookie."

BEFORE PURCHASING A PROFILE OR PORTFOLIO

1. I would like to know more about your portfolio services before I make a purchase. Where can I find out more information?

You can find out more about our portfolio and profile services here. If you are still interested in finding out more, please contact a customer service representative.


2. Is there a charge to get an online profile and/or portfolio?

Yes. You can compare our different services here.


3. I already have a website, why would I want to get a portfolio too?

That is great. By all means, keep your own website. However, don't overlook our portfolio services. We can direct a lot of traffic to your website and portfolio. We actively market AFWork all over the world, both online and offline.

In the major search engines (google, yahoo, excite, etc) - if you do a search on the majore search engines for "freelance work", "freelance jobs", or "freelance", at least one of our sites will be listed on the first page (in many cases the first listing). This would effect the traffic to your site as well, and I will tell you how. You can customize your portfolio by adding your own metatags. Your portfolio will be located on the Allfreelance server. Since the search engines are constantly crawling our site, your portfolio and its metatags will be picked up as easy as that. Since search engines now use a formula to place high-traffic sites first, your listing should show up too.

In our internal search engine - What search engine is better to lead traffic to your website than a search engine that searches for freelancers in your profession. You couldn't find a better search engine than this for your business. Employers can be very specific within their search, and chances are your portfolio will come up many times every day.


4. I never get any responses from other freelance sites, why would I get a response with your service?

Many sites have great services but don't take the time to market their site. We actively and agressively market AFWork. We have the traffic to backup our services.


5. How much traffic does AFWork get?

Our network of sites get about 8 - 10 thousand unique visitors a day.


6. Do I get my own web address and email?

All profiles and portfolios receive the web address, but only the Premium Profile, Basic Portfolio, and Premium Portfolio get the free email.


7. What file types can I upload?

JPEG, PDF, Flash, GIF, Quicktime, doc, word. If you don't find a file type that you want to upload, please contact us at allfreelance@comcast.net, and we will see if we can allow the file type that you are interested in uploading. We are very flexible.


8. How much space are we allocated?

Premium Profile - 400K
Basic Portfolio - 10 MB
Premium Portfolio - 20 MB


9. Can people steal my images? Do you have any theft protection to prevent this?

All images that are downloaded will be downloaded in low-resolution format.


10. Is there a refund policy?

Because our resume service in not retractable (resumes sent out are then out of our control) we will not provide refunds for this service. If after two weeks you have not received any responses to your resume and are dissatisfied with our service we may at our discretion provide you with a one time resubmission after approximately 60 days from your original submission.

As for our profile or portfolio service, we will, at our discretion, allow for a refund on profile/portfolio services if we receive an email from you within seven days of your profile/portfolio submission. In the event that you require a refund of part of a package in which you receive both resume and profile/portfolio services you will be refunded only the amount left over after the full cost of the individual resume service is subtracted from what you paid. Once again resume services are not refundable.


11. Do I have to be an artist in order to benefit from a portfolio?

No, definately not. Anyone can benefit from a portfolio or a profile. No matter what your career focus is, the power of AFWork can help land you a client. We actively market our site, and thousands of clients visit our sites.
